My name is Bennie. I am 1-2 years old and
a miracle dog because I was shot several times with a shotgun
filled with buckshot and hit by a car and I am still alive! I
spent about 12 weeks recovering but am now up and running
around. I am not a beautiful westie but I make up for it by
being such a good boy and giving lots of kisses. My back end
is still somewhat weak and I fall easily but I love to play. I
do get tired and have to rest but those breaks are getting
shorter and fewer. I love to play with other doggies or
people. I do growl a lot but it’s to talk, not because I am
upset. I love to grab my Foster Mom’s hand in my mouth but
it’s to show her that I love her not hurt her. I don’t like to
be brushed especially around my back end as it hurts all of my
wounds. I am pretty well housebroken and very well behaved. Do
you have enough room in your heart to take in a little miracle
dog like me? Bennie is fostered in the OKC area and adopters
must travel to OKC to adopt him. Vet records will be provided
to his adoptive family. Update 7-21-08 Bennie is good
to go and will need no further intervention or crate rest.
Except for some of the buckshot working its way out of his
little body, Bennie is pretty close to 100%.
NOTE: This dog is
being fostered in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME. You must complete and
submit an Adoption
Application and be approved to adopt prior to being able
to meet the dog. Oklahoma Westie
Rescue will only adopt to applicants who reside within
the following states: OK, AR, MO, KS and TX. If you live
outside these areas OR if you have children under the age of
10, please do not
apply for this dog.
Preference is given to homes with fenced yards. We do not
ship our pets. Be prepared to travel to Tulsa, OK, or Oklahoma
City, OK, to pick up this dog in person if your
application is approved. The requested adoption donation for
this dog is $250. |
