Emmy Lou is a very sweet and gentle Scottish Terrier. We believe she is about 4 years old, but those 4 years were tough ones. She is shy with humans, but gets along fine with other dogs. Emmy Lou likes to bark at the different noises in the neighborhood and follow her dog buddies around the yard doing “perimeter checks”.
She is learning that people are not to be feared.
At first she spent all day in her great big crate. She has been known to graciously share that crate with any number of other pups that wander in to visit with her! When she first arrived at her new foster home she ate, slept and “hung out” in the crate, but she has slowly decided that it’s okay to come eat with the rest of the pups and even takes peanut butter from her foster mom, which means she has to get pretty close to her. She has done very well at potty training and learned to use the dog door almost immediately! Every day she becomes more and more certain that people might not be so bad after all. She has even found out that it’s quite nice to spend the evening sitting in her foster dad’s lap while he watches TV! Yes, she’s coming right along and even wagged her tail at her dog buddies the other day. Now – it will be a wonderful day when she wags it at her foster parents!
NOTE: This dog is being fostered in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME. You must complete
and submit an Adoption
Application and be approved to adopt prior to being able
to meet the dog. Oklahoma Westie
Rescue will only adopt to applicants who reside within
the following states: OK, AR, MO, KS and TX. If you live
outside these areas OR if you have children under the age of
10, please do not
apply for this dog.
Preference is given to homes with fenced yards. We do not
ship our pets. Be prepared to travel to Tulsa, OK, or Oklahoma
City, OK, to pick up this dog in person if your
application is approved. The requested adoption donation for
this dog is $250. |
